Stop Signs and Green Lights

It has taken several starts and stops (more stops than starts, as you might guess) to lead me here, to this one last beginning...to finally start to blog.

I have gleaned at least 100 blogs; reading, connecting, learning, and have lived vicariously through other's eyes and words. I have been touched, I have laughed, I have been thoughtful. Every day I l have looked forward to knowing those bloggers who became my favorites better, and I have been fortunate that they have been willing to share themselves with the unknown me.

I have been inspired by their honesty, realizing that they do not know what a profound effect they have had on me.

Until now.

It has certainly been a slow start. Interest came first, then reading, then knowing. I started out leaving a message here - then another one there - and then several messages poured out.

But now I am ready to take the next step.

So, here I am. I will make mistakes, and I will have revelations. I will fret about commas, fuss about paragraphs, agonize over wording, and worry about revealing too much - or not enough.

I have decided it is time to come out of the ether-shadows. I have decided to stop lurking. I have decided that I, too, must start sharing a part of myself with them, if they are so inclined to know me. To uncover my foibles, my fantasies, my fascinations.

I am willing to be as honest as I can be, because I know that I want my inner voice to be heard. Even if it is into the black hole of cyber-space for awhile.

But, most importantly, I look forward to forging many wonderful cyber-friendships, and hope that I, too, can have a positive effect on someone else, as my favorite bloggers have had on me.

So, here's to you, dear bloggers. I am here and plan to stay awhile.

Stay tuned!
